Knowing is Wisdom

After reading the first six chapters, word for word, today, I am aware of the awesome responsibilities the gun owner has as the Colorado laws governing firearms. The bottom line is avoidance when ever possible. Only in actual physical confrontation is the use of a firearm reasonable; self defense of one's person, or dwelling. Though there are many variations to this, retreat is best.
In short, ignorance is no excuse.

I choose to carry a concealed weapon, I do have my CCW Card approved by the Sheriff's office. I feel it is my responsibility to be informed of the current laws as they pertain to concealed carry. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse. I take my wifes and my own lives seriously, and also our personal property. If you need a reference, this book is invaluable.

Thank you for the book, I teach concealed carry classes and there are always questions about various subjects from people who will be carrying firearms. Sometimes I know the answers sometimes I do not. This book seems to cover the most commonly asked questions easing my thoughts on this particular subject. It is an easy go to book and easy to find any question asked. I have been a police officer and trainer for 35 years and I can with confidence tell you that no one has all the answers. This book helps tremendously.

I have only cherry picked some areas to read so far but what I have read is really good. I like how there is information regarding how the courts have interpreted the laws.

Attempting to navigate the complexities of the regulations and laws that pertain to responsible gun ownership and carry just got a bit easier. I have only completed the first few chapters of this nearly 400 page reference book but what I have read is incredibly helpful. While I cannot speak to similar books for other states, I consider this a fantastic means of understanding the Colorado laws.
